FAQ 11

What is TailorCV?
TailorCV is an AI-powered resume builder designed to help job seekers tailor their resumes for each job application. It offers features like AI-powered optimization, keyword matching, and ATS-friendly resume creation to increase the chances of landing interviews. The platform allows users to import existing resumes, add job descriptions, review AI suggestions, and download tailored resumes in multiple formats.
How to use TailorCV?
To use TailorCV, start by importing your existing resume (PDF, Word, or Text format). Then, paste the job description you're interested in. The AI will analyze both and provide suggestions to optimize your resume. Review the suggestions, enhance your content, and download the tailored resume.
How do I import my existing CV?
You can easily import your existing CV through our AI-powered import tool. Simply upload your CV file (PDF or Word format) and our system will automatically extract and populate the information. The process takes about 30 seconds.
Can I import job descriptions from LinkedIn?
Yes! You can automatically import job listings from LinkedIn by pasting the job URL. The URL should be in the format 'https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/' followed by the job ID number.
What if I want to enter job details manually?
You can paste the entire job posting into our designated input box. Our AI assistant will automatically parse and organize all the important information including requirements, responsibilities, and qualifications.
How many versions of my resume should I have?
We recommend creating a 'master resume' with all your experiences, then using our AI tools to create tailored versions for each job type (e.g., 'Project Manager Resume,' 'Content Marketing Resume').
How does the AI tailoring work?
Look for the blue 'Enhance' button in most sections to adapt content to the job offer. You can use 'Refine' for more control, and our system provides predefined questions to guide the enhancement process. Don't worry - you can always undo any changes.
Can I translate my CV to other languages?
Yes! Our translation feature can convert your skills, tools, and experience descriptions while maintaining other content in its original language. You can also select different languages for template text in the preview.
Do you support both one-page and two-page formats?
All our templates support both single and double-page layouts. You can easily switch between formats using the page toggle in the toolbar, and the content will automatically adjust to maintain professional formatting.
What customization options are available for templates?
Our templates offer comprehensive customization: add professional photos, control section visibility, customize color schemes, change template language, and more. All changes are instantly visible in the preview.
What if I lack direct experience for a role?
Focus on transferable skills. Our AI helps identify and highlight relevant experiences from your background that match job requirements. For example, teaching experience can be reframed to emphasize training and development skills.
