SeeGrant 2.0 — Foundation Research, Bring-Your-Own Grants, and a Full Submission Workflow
Since our last update here, SeeGrant has gone from a grant search engine to an end-to-end funding workspace. The short version: we stopped assuming discovery was the hard part. Finding a grant takes minutes. Qualifying for it, writing it, submitting it on time, and reporting on it afterward is where organizations actually lose. Version 2.0 is built around that whole arc.
Foundation research is now first-class
This is the biggest addition. Federal grants are public and easy to list; private foundation money is where most nonprofits and small businesses actually get funded, and it's historically been invisible without an expensive database subscription.
SeeGrant now ingests IRS 990-PF filings and the IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File directly. That gives you Foundation Intelligence on 4,700+ private foundations: real giving history, typical gift size, asset and revenue data, and grantee patterns — so you can see whether a foundation actually funds organizations like yours before you spend three hours on an LOI. Every grant record also carries a "Last Verified" date, so you know the listing isn't stale.
That sits alongside 12,000+ opportunities auto-discovered and refreshed daily from Grants.gov, USDA, SBA, NSF, NIH, state and municipal Socrata open-data portals, and curated RSS sources, with automatic deduplication.
Bring your own grant
Our most-requested feature, and now front and center in the sidebar as "Add a Grant."
Found an opportunity somewhere we don't cover — a local community foundation, a corporate giving page, something a board member forwarded you? Paste it in. It gets the full SeeGrant treatment: AI eligibility scoring, funder-aware drafting, document checklist, readiness score, pipeline stage, and deadline reminders. You're no longer limited to what's in our index; SeeGrant becomes the place you manage every application.
Free includes 3 custom grants a month, Starter 10, and Pro and above are unlimited.
Writing and submission help that goes past a blank page
AI eligibility analysis — a 0–100 fit score with a plain-English "Why I'm a Fit" explanation, in about ten seconds instead of three hours of RFP reading
Funder-aware AI drafting that writes differently for federal, foundation, corporate and state funders, and parses the actual scoring rubric where one is published
Answer Library — store your mission, impact, budget and capacity answers once; AI suggests the right one for each new question instead of making you rewrite it
Pre-Submission Quality Review — a last-pass check before you hit submit
Application Readiness Workspace with readiness scores, document checklists and milestone tracking, backed by a Document Vault so your 501(c)(3) letter, audited financials and W-9 are never the thing that holds up a submission
Everything after "submit"
A 6-stage visual pipeline — Discovery → Qualification → Cultivation → Application → Decision → Stewardship — with per-stage task checklists, a deadline calendar with automatic reminders, and a weekly digest email.
And new in 2.0: post-award tracking and stewardship. Manage awarded grants, track reporting deadlines, monitor payment disbursements, and keep award statuses current. Plus win/loss writing insights that feed back into future applications.
Grant Writer Pro toolkit
For consultants, we shipped the business side of the practice: time tracker, budget builder with AI-generated narratives, invoice generator, CSV client bulk-import, cross-client grant matching, per-client dismissals, white-label PDF exports, and a client portal. Pro covers up to 10 clients; Enterprise is unlimited with five seats and API access.
Faster onboarding, and the boring-but-important stuff
New users get a Grant Match Quiz that can be pre-seeded from a link, EIN lookup that prefills your organization's details during signup, and audience-specific paths for nonprofits, small businesses and consultants.
Underneath: API rate limiting, cookie consent, data export and deletion, audit trails, account lifecycle controls, and email deliverability guardrails with bounce processing and send budgets.
