What is Canvish?
Canvish is an AI-powered slang translator that allows users to translate text into different English dialects, including Scottish, Australian, Canadian, Northumbrian, and Gen Z slang. How to use Canvish?
Enter text into the input area, select the desired English dialect or slang from the dropdown menu, and click the translate button. The translated text will appear in the output area.
How does Canvish work?
Canvish is powered by the OpenAI GPT-3.5 model. Your input is pre-processed on our server, checked for unsafe content using OpenAI's Moderation API, and then sent to GPT-3.5 embedded in a prompt. The output of GPT is processed and delivered as a stream.
How to unlock everything?
You can unlock all the languages and longer input by buying a license. This license is valid for one year and refundable.
What does '(almost) unlimited' mean?
With a license you can translate up to 1,000,000 characters which we believe to be enough for a casual use. If you need more, contact us at [email protected].
How does it deal with 'unsafe' content?
We process each text we receive through OpenAI Moderation API. It detects unsafe content as described here. Note that this moderation system is not 100% accurate: It may detect unsafe content as safe and vice-versa.
Canvish prints 'today's quota is reached', what does it mean?
Processing each query has a cost. We can't support an unlimited number of queries for free. So we implemented a limit to be sure that the use of Canvish won't exceed our budget. If we reach this limit, it means that we delivered the maximum for today. Come back tomorrow or support Canvish by purchasing a license.
